Xylitol is typically available in powder or crystal form, both of which can be used in cooking, baking or anywhere else you would normally use sugar or a sugar substitute. Simply replace sugar with xylitol, for example, if you normally add one tablespoon of sugar to your coffee, add one tablespoon of xylitol instead.
Substitute xylitol for the entire amount of sugar in each recipe. For example, if a recipe calls for one cup of sugar, use one cup of xylitol powder instead.
Please note that it is impossible for xylitol to caramelise even at an extremely high temperature and cooked at length.
